About Mrs Cake

Hi! I'm Rosa, a.k.a. Mrs Cake, and I live in Wellington, New Zealand with my amazing husband (Mr Cake) and inquisitive toddler son (Little Monkey Cake).

"Mrs Cake" is a nickname bestowed on me by flatmates while at uni. I would make celebration cakes for friends and family to supplement my scant student budget, which resulted in a fair bit of frenzied late-night baking and a proliferation of cake scraps for my flatties to feast on.

I started this blog in 2010, when my husband and I were finding our feet here in Wellington. Then the focus was exclusively food, which I love (especially if it's chocolate); these days things are a bit more diverse, reflecting how my life has changed over the years.

I want to make eating and living well easier for you. I share recipes I love, which vary from decadent, over the top cakes and desserts to basic, quick and cheap family meals. I also write a bit about family stuff and about renovating our home... But find often it all comes back to food.

There's a weekly newsletter which includes links to the week's posts, as well as extra little tidbits - you can sign up here to have it delivered fresh to your inbox every week.

You can also join Mrs Cake on Facebook to see updates whenever new posts go up, including concise recipe cards for the quick stuff.

I love to hear from readers, so if you want to drop me a line for any reason feel free to email mrscake.nz@gmail.com.

Thanks for popping by!
