Quarky Giveaway - five chances to win!

A welcome distraction and happy post - today I have a yummy and generous prize to offer!

A little while ago I discovered some treats called Quarky - made from quark, they're chilled bars that are rich and morish. They're also pretty simple, ingredient-wise, which I like - I do prefer understanding what goes into my food!

These are pretty petite nibbles - each one is 45g - but as soon as you try them you realise why that is; they are very decadent, almost cheesecakey, and more than a couple of bites would be too much.

Five of you lucky folk will each receive a box of 40 Quarkees - they normally come in sensible boxes of five, but so that you can share them round (because believe me, it's hard to let anyone else into them if you know there are only five in the box!) the lovely Arvi from Quarky has made sure you'll have plenty to go round.

They come in four flavours; vanilla, blueberry, caramel and chocolate - I tried vanilla, which was very, very good, and caramel is next on my hit-list. They come frozen (because they don't have added preservatives that's the best way to make them last) but are best once defrosted, so they can even be tucked in a lunchbox for a wee treat to liven up the day.

If you want to try them for yourself, and can't wait for the competition to close, they're available at Countdown and Commonsense Organics stores, as well as some other retailers - check in the freezers.

The competition is open until 7pm on Friday the 17th of March, and all New Zealand readers can enter.

To go in the draw, tell me where you think you'd have yours in the comments below - will you hide them in the back of the freezer and sneak them when no-one else is looking, or take them somewhere to share with friends? Just let me know when you'd have your Quarky, then ensure you check back after the 17th to see if you've won.

Please make sure you include your name when you comment. As usual, I'll use random.org to determine the winner when the competition closes. Good luck!

Oooh! My favourite snack food in Germany used to be called Quark, I wonder if this is similar!

If I won, I would probably share a box or two with my favourite ladies who come over on Wednesdays to drink gin and watch Gossip Girl, but I'd definitely eat others by myself, in bed with a good book and my cat cuddled up next to me. Maybe I'd share some with him too.

I'd share mine with hubby, who is having it pretty hard right now because he has lost most of his work hours due to the earthquake. He loves caramel, and all sweet things, so it would be lovely to bring a smile to his face, when we dont have the spare funds for treats we used to have.

I would love to have my group of girlfriends around for a yummy dinner, delish wine and then these bars to follow. I've been looking for an excuse to have my friends round for dinner to cook for them and this might just be it!

I've just stumbled upon your blog recently and am finding it very inspiring - I want to make a whole lot of the things I've seen on here.
The quarky bars look delicious! I think i'd share them round, but also hide some away for a day where i need a fix of something tasty. Looking forward to reading more on here!

I would take them to work to share around - there's nothing that makes a work day go faster than a bunch of engineers hyperactive on sweet treats. They sound really yum!

I would have them with my flatmates when we all sit down to watch 'Go Girls'. They sound delicious!!

40! That would be enough to share with all the people in my block. They all love a little treaty surprise from time to time.

Sounds like a date with me myself and I. Probably on the floor in front of the freezer. Just as well this comment is anonymous...

I would share them around at morning tea when we get back to uni after the quake (plus I may keep one or two back for my flatmates and I to share when some girl talk is required).

AS I bake A LOT for the girls on night shift (my shift of choice), it goes without saying that I would give myself a day off baking (if I could bring myself to that is), and take them to work to help get us all through the night shift...particularly good for that 3am slump!

I reckon I'd save them as a flatwarming treat for myself and my flatmate - once we find a new flat that is. Would definitely add to the motivation to find somewhere knowing I had those puppies waiting for me.

They sound DELICIOUS!
I'd hide these in the veggie bin, I have 3 kids so I know they won't be found in there! ;)

I'd give 2 to my hubby because I'm generous like that but the other 3 I would have to store off the premises or my husband would eat them too. So they would go in my desk drawer at work for when I'm having a particularly horrid day, I'd have a Quarky to look forward to.

I'd share them with hubby at the end of the day after the little munchkins are tucked up safely in bed.

Sitting on the back steps, book in hand, washing blowing in the wind, small child having afternoon sleep... in fact, I might have to race down to Commonsense tomorrow so I can do just that! Hope you have a good weekend

I'd probably eat them frozen, due to lack of patience in waiting for the deliciousness to defrost, to be honest!

I would probably store them at the back of the freezer in the hope that they would last long enough for us to enjoy as a treat after a special dinner sometime. However I am not sure whether they'd last that long, I'd probably manage to come up with an excuse to celebrate something so that we can break them out :)

I am sure I posted before, but it seems to have disappeared.

I would take a some to potluck at Matt's to share and then hoard the rest for when Jan and I are watching movies.

I think I would use them as extra special kid treats. Although I know it would quickly end in tears as little miss not quite 2 already goes in freezer to help herself to Popsicles. Holding the door shut against determined child is not fun.

I'll use these for my son's birthday party :)
