Parcels in the Post

I don't know about you, but I love getting parcels in the mail. And the last week has been a pretty good week for parcels!

This was the first one (and so pretty!). It's an Easter parcel from my sister Beth in Dunedin.

And this is what it contained (along with some delicious Lindor eggs, which I promptly scoffed before getting the camera out). The photo doesn't really do the colour justice, it's a really nice forest green, and I'm super impressed by the cabling. I never really got very far with my knitting... Knit one, purl one was about it for me. ;-)

Okay, this one didn't come in the post... But Easter (or Mr Cake) brought these little bunnies along - and I got Mr Cake the super cute carrots (because he likes to be healthy!). These didn't last long either...

The next Easter parcel to arrive in the post was from my parents in Christchurch - oops, again, I ate my Kinder Surprise before I broke out the camera. Nothing like chocolate to bring out my inner, unrestrained child. ;-) We loooooooove the Lindt Excellence blocks - just had a couple of squares of the chilli flavour, and it's so intense, so good, and yet you need so little to hit that chocolate bliss point!

The last parcel was less of a surprise, since I ordered this stuff in preparation for the cupcake bake-off this Saturday - but it's still nice to come home to a package in the mailbox. I ordered these goodies from Cakestuff, and delivery was very quick - I ordered at about 10.30pm on Tuesday, and got them by courier today! So very impressed by that.

I love this design (you probably guessed that already since I got it in 3 colours. I especially like the prices on the cupcake papers - only $2.00-$2.50 for 20 pretty papers - elsewhere they can be $16 for 25 similar-style papers.

And I also bought these tiny edible stars. They look just like star-shaped glitter but for food (or indeed drinks; one of the suggested uses on the package is to make your champagne super festive by sprinkling a few in each glass).

Sadly I imagine that'll be the last of the packages in the post for me for a while - but I'm feeling pretty spoiled right now so I can't complain!

What's the most exciting thing you've received recently?

  2. Thanks Michelle! And surely 10am isn't too early for chocolate - it's never too early! ;-)
